Surprisingly, this birth centenary also coincides with the 500th year Pattabisheka cetenary of Shri Krishna Deva Raya – Shri.Panthulu, a theatre actor and later one of the finest film actors, who has won the State Award for acting in the role of Thimmarasu, the Minister in Shri Krishna Deva Raya’s rule, had told his daughter B.R.Vijayalakshmi that when he was a theatre actor, he would go and sit among the ruins of Hamphi and dream of enacting a theatre play about the subject – but later managed to make it as a film, which ran for 25 weeks.
