Gone are the days when the hero and heroine were hidden behind the closeup shot of a flower when they had to show an intimate lip lock. Its the season where more steamy the lip lock, more the publicity.
The recent times has seen, every other hero/heroine trying the lip-lock route to publicity atleast once. Most of the recenly released movies like Thoranai, Sarvam, Laadam, Kulir 100 degree boasted of the hot kissing scenes between the lead pairs. Meanwhile most of the upcoming movies like Muthirai, Kanthasamy, Sarithiram, Kutty etc are also talking about the hot hot kissing lip lock in their movies.
The recent ones in the news were Muthirai where lead pairs Lakshmi Rai and Daniel Balaji do a steamy and bold kiss scene. Manjal Veyyil heroine Sandhya was also in news recently velhamently denying the rumours of her liplock in the movie and saying that it was a publicity gimmick by the director. The Vikram-Shriya kissing scene in Kanthaswamy is said to have been done in a very aesthetic manner.
Weather the audience get to see the steamy scenes or Censor board cuts it out, or its not as steamy as the director/producer claim and is only a blink and you miss it scene, how long will this kind of publicity help the film makers in marketing their films. Only time will tell. For now, kiss seems like the magic word for publicity.
