Bala who got his first prize for his best performance in the manada mayilada dance competition debuted as a hero in the film Vaigai. He acted in a film Kannum Kannum Nokia and that project was shelved after completing 60% of the shooting. Then he went to dance master Kala’s school and she told him to participate in manada mayilada programme. Vaigai Director Sundarapandi approached him to do the hero role in the film when he was in the semi finals.
